Fit to work offshore, confirmed by an occupational health physician
Anyone working offshore in the UK oil, gas and energy sector needs to pass a medical examination to the Offshore Energies UK (OEUK, formerly Oil & Gas UK) standard. It confirms you're fit to travel offshore, live and work on an installation, and look after yourself in an emergency.
We carry out these assessments regularly, with an occupational health physician overseeing your care at our Surrey clinic.
OEUK-registered

Valid for up to two years
Renewal follows the same assessment as a first certificate.

The same assessment covers a first certificate and a renewal.

In line with the current OEUK guidance (Issue 8), a routine urine test and hearing test are no longer carried out as standard – only where clinically indicated or where your role requires them.

- Photo ID (passport or driving licence)

- Relevant GP or specialist reports, if any
- A list of any medication you take

Offshore medical questions
Our doctors are OEUK-registered and the certificate is recognised across the UK offshore sector. Some operators set additional requirements – tell us yours and we'll confirm everything before you book.
CA-EBS certification requires a lung function test (spirometry), which we carry out here. It enables the CA-EBS element of BOSIET training, and it's an optional add-on for £40 – add it at booking only if your role requires it.
A standard OEUK medical takes up to 60 minutes. Allow up to 90 minutes if your employer requires additional tests or assessments, such as CA-EBS or the Chester Step.
