The DVLA medical for Group 2 drivers
A DVLA D4 medical is required when you first apply for a Group 2 licence, and then to renew it. For most drivers a medical is needed at age 45, every five years after that to 65, and then once a year from 65. The DVLA can also ask for one at any time on medical grounds.

A signed D4 is valid for four months, so send it to the DVLA with your application within that window.

Yes. The doctor completes and signs the D4 during your appointment, based on your answers, history and the examination. You then send it to the DVLA with your application.

You pay securely online when you book.
