Who we are

Medwyn provides occupational health services for employers – from management referrals and health surveillance to medicals, testing and wellbeing.

Medwyn is led by our Medical Director, Dr Stewart Tomlinson, and every report and recommendation is written by a senior clinician.

We work with organisations of every size and from all sectors – from schools and councils to construction, energy and professional services.

Clinical leadership

Dr Stewart Tomlinson

Medical Director

MSc MB BS MRCGP DOccMed

Stewart has led Medwyn's clinical service for over two decades. With a background spanning general practice and occupational medicine, he leads the clinical team and sets the standard for every assessment and report Medwyn produces. He works closely with employers on their occupational health strategy, from designing programmes to advising on complex cases, and remains directly involved in management referrals and clinical assessments.

Dr Louise Tomei

Occupational Health Physician

BSc MBChB DFFP DRCOG MRCGP DOccMed

Louise qualified as a doctor 35 years ago and has combined general practice with occupational health since completing her occupational health training in 2014. At Medwyn her work covers clinical assessments, health surveillance, menopause support and complex absence management. She also carries out offshore and overseas medicals, including OEUK medicals and fitness assessments for emergency breathing system (EBS) training.

Lesley Fairplay

Lead Occupational Health Advisor

Lesley has 26 years' occupational health experience, following an NHS clinical career in intensive care, cardiac care and neurology. Her occupational health work has spanned healthcare, local authorities, the fire service, aviation, education and the charity sector. As Lead Occupational Health Advisor she works across the full range of Medwyn's services, with a particular interest in hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS).

Louise Cresswell

Occupational Health Advisor

Louise's background spans rail, aviation and healthcare, and her work covers complex case management, sickness absence, health surveillance, pre-employment and safety-critical assessments. She also advises on travel health and health promotion, and supports employee wellbeing through rehabilitation and workplace adjustments.

Betti Reeves

Occupational Health Advisor

Betti's 40-year clinical career spans midwifery, women's health, screening, health promotion and long-term condition management. At Medwyn she specialises in travel and public health immunisation, supporting individuals and organisations to protect health and wellbeing and maintain fitness for work.

Fran Edwards

Business Manager

Fran's career spans healthcare, life sciences and business strategy. As Business Manager she brings commercial and analytical experience to the running of Medwyn – developing Medwyn's services, strengthening client relationships and driving continuous improvement across the organisation.

Jade Tully

Assistant Operations Manager

Jade has worked at Medwyn for more than ten years, including seven in occupational health. She works closely with the clinical team to keep the service running smoothly, coordinating clinics so that the employees who attend receive a professional and supportive experience.

SEQOHS accreditation

SEQOHS – Safe, Effective, Quality Occupational Health Service – is the independent accreditation scheme for occupational health services in the UK. Accreditation follows a detailed assessment against published standards covering clinical governance, the competence of staff, facilities and the quality of service that employers and employees receive, with ongoing review to maintain it.

As a SEQOHS-accredited service, Medwyn delivers the service to those standards every day. This includes how our clinicians are supervised and supported, how records and confidentiality are managed, and how the quality of our reports and advice is reviewed.
